The Firm’s Public Agency Practice Group handles the full range of public agency and municipal law services, with considerable experience in both litigation and transactional aspects of the law as it relates to all departments of cities, counties and other governmental agencies, including the interpretation and implementation of Federal and State laws as they affect the local entity. The Group can provide transactional services including research and drafting of ordinances, rules, regulations and legal opinions, as well as review and drafting of contracts relating to such diverse areas as real property and other land use transactions, supply purchases, independent contractor service agreements and bargaining unit memoranda of understanding. The Group also has experience representing City Council, County Board of Supervisors and other administrative bodies as their legal counsel, including personnel boards, civil service commissions and planning commissions. The Public Agency Practice Group also provides litigation services such as criminal, civil or administrative code enforcement prosecution, tort claims defense, eminent domain and related condemnation procedures and personnel and employment related appearances in both State and Federal Courts.
