Jim’s legal career as an attorney and judge spans half a century. He is available for appellate consultations and for service as an arbitrator.

For 25 years Jim was engaged in the private practice of civil law with emphasis in the areas of trusts and estates, real estate, and commercial dealings. He handled both transactional and litigation assignments. He then served five years as a trial judge on the Fresno County Superior Court and eleven years as an associate justice on the California Court of Appeal, Fifth Appellate District. Following his retirement from the bench Jim has acted as a mediator, arbitrator, and appellate consultant.

During and following his judicial career Jim has addressed cases across the entire spectrum of civil law, including contracts, employment, insurance, agriculture, construction, municipal law, and personal injury. His broad experience give him the ability to analyze and evaluate cases and issues of all types.
