Mr. Jamison was admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of California in 1977. He is admitted to practice before several federal courts, including the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California and the United States Court of Appeals of the Ninth Circuit. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1974 and his law degree from the University of California at Davis in 1977. He is a member of the Fresno County Bar, the Federal Bar and the American Bar Associations. He is also a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.

Mr. Jamison’s 30 plus years of law practice encompass a wide variety of trial practice in business disputes, land use issues, insurance litigation and healthcare litigation. Early in his career, Mr. Jamison represented the defendants in an historical “wrongful life” case before the California Supreme Court, which case significantly restricted the type of damages available for such cases. He has represented hospitals and physicians in a wide variety of healthcare disputes that include, among others, government obligations for indigent care, physician discipline, and closed departments. His trial practice has also included, among the others noted above, eminent domain, development fees (for the developer and for the public entity), title matters, and intellectual property.

Having represented Fresno’s Community Medical Centers in litigated matters and other disputes for many years, Mr. Jamison was asked in the late 1990’s to serve as outside General Counsel for this hospital system, which at the time consisted of three general acute care hospitals and had over 5,000 employees. In this capacity, Mr. Jamison became intimately familiar with, among other matters, the fraud and abuse laws and regulations, as well as other regulations, that are uniquely applicable to hospitals and healthcare providers. From this experience, Mr. Jamison brings rare practical knowledge to the needs of healthcare providers for legal services. Mr. Jamison is Chair of Dowling Aaron & Keeler’s Health Law Section.

Mr. Jamison is recognized in Marquis Who’s Who In American Law, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World. He has served as a speaker on panels for The California Society for Healthcare Attorneys, The American Health Lawyers Association, and the Continuing Education of the Bar. He has also published several articles in health law publications. He is on the panel of mediators and arbitrators for the Fresno County Superior Court, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the American Arbitration Association. Over the years he has donated his time to various community services, such as service as Co-Chair of Law Day and participating in the the Clovis West High School African-American Student Union “Real Men Can Cook” Scholarship Program.
