    Stephanie Hamilton Borchers

    Ms. Borchers has practiced law in the Fresno community since 1997, joining Dowling, Aaron & Keeler’s appellate law and litigation practice groups in 2009. She has over 12 years of experience litigating cases in the State and Federal courts, both as a trial attorney and appellate advocate. Ms. Borchers has comprehensive knowledge of appellate law and procedure, having practiced for more than 5 years as a senior research attorney to the Presiding Justice of the Fifth District Court of Appeal. While working for the Fifth District Court of Appeal Ms. Borchers obtained invaluable insight into appellate advocacy and strategy from the judicial perspective.

    Ms. Borchers also has extensive litigation experience. Immediately prior to joining DAK she served as an Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuting a broad range of civil cases as well as criminal forfeiture cases for the Eastern District of California. While representing the United States as an Assistant United States Attorney, Ms. Borchers handled all aspects of civil litigation from case origination through appeal.

    Ms. Borchers received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California at Davis, obtaining a bachelor of arts in Rhetoric and Communication in 1993 and a juris doctor degree in 1997. While in law school Ms. Borchers was a member of the Law Review, a Contributing Editor to the Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy, a moot court national semi-finalist and was selected as a teaching assistant in the areas of torts, civil procedure and legal research and writing.
